Device Management

for 350+ Creative

Professionals

How Kaizen helped a leading UK broadcaster build a secure, scalable macOS environment without compromising user experience.

Our client is a leading UK public service broadcaster, is renowned for its creative and digital-first culture. As macOS adoption grew across departments, they needed a solution to securely manage and scale its Apple device fleet while maintaining an excellent user experience.

The Challenge

Apple devices were initially confined to the creative department. As adoption

spread to business units and executive teams, manual device management

became unsustainable—leading to inconsistent configurations, limited visibility, and increased support demands.

The broadcaster's specific build and security requirements meant they couldn’t use standard solutions like Apple Business Manager and automated provisioning.

The Solution

As their trusted IT partner,Kaizen implemented Jamf Pro to create a secure, repeatable management framework customised for their environment—even without automated deployment. Key services included:

  • Custom, locally built macOS images aligned with corporate security standards

  • Manual but streamlined device enrolment into Jamf Pro post-imaging

  • Centralised application deployment for both standard users and creative teams

  • Patch management and automated security updates across the Apple estate

  • Configuration profiles for security baselines (FileVault, firewall, password policies)

  • User empowerment via a branded Jamf Self Service portal

Implementation

Kaizen developed a controlled build and staging process, enabling the client's IT team to securely provision devices in-house before deployment. After Jamf enrollment, devices were automatically assigned to smart groups and received role-specific apps, policies, and configurations.

Kaizen supported the transition with comprehensive training and documentation for both technical staff and end users.

Results

  • A fully managed Apple fleet of 350+ devices with real-time inventory visibility

  • Reduced IT overhead and manual work despite no automated deployment

  • Significant improvement in security posture and compliance tracking

  • Faster issue resolution through Jamf remote support tools and reporting

  • High end-user satisfactiondue to consistent setups and access to self-service tools

Looking Ahead

Kaizen continues to provide ongoing managed services, including:

• Lifecycle management and new device onboarding

• Advanced reporting and compliance checks

• Continual refinement of app deployment and patching strategies
